Tips

Here are some tips on using SmartSignage.

If SmartSignage is running but can not be displayed

SmartSignage may not appear even though it is running. On Windows, it will appear to work in the thumbnail view when you hover over the taskbar icon.
This can happen if you have connected multiple monitors (displays) and placed SmartSignage on one of them, and then disconnected the monitor you placed the next time you start SmartSignage.
Describe how to handle this case.

Use execution option

SmartSignage can be displayed on the main monitor (primary display) by specifying the execution option -ps in Ver.2.1 or later.

On Windows

The following is an example of installing SmartSignage in the default location. The default installation location is C:\Program Files\SmartSignage2.

Start a command prompt or PowerShell, or open “Run” (Win + R), type the following, and press the “Enter” key.

C:\Program Files\SmartSignage2\SmartSignage.exe -ps

Then, SmartSignage starts and is displayed on the main monitor.

On Ubuntu

On Ubuntu, SmartSignage is included in the execution path when installed. In the terminal run:

smartsignage -ps

Then, SmartSignage starts and is displayed on the main monitor.

Use the Jump List (Windows only)

On Windows, you can use Task in the Jump List to move a running SmartSignage to any monitor.

  1. Right-click the taskbar icon while running SmartSignage.

  2. Select “Show on This Monitor” in the Jump List.

  3. SmartSignage will move to the monitor you have run.
